Each film, regardless of genre, duration or subject matter, is created in three phases. Each phase involves a number of specialists overseeing the successive stages of production.
Pre-production and production
Pre-production is a very early stage of film production. It is mainly concerned with agreeing all kinds of formalities, setting deadlines, performers and other organisational and preparatory work. A script is produced, which is the basis for the film. Production covers the entire period of work on set, from the first day to the last. Responsibility for shooting lies with the production manager, who ensures that a professional film is produced that meets the client's expectations. On the film set, apart from the director and the production manager, there are also the camera operator, the seamstress (camera operator), the focus puller (responsible for sharpening the image), the gripper (lighting engineer), the make-up artists, the costume designer, the prop maker, the set designer, the set dresser, the set dressers and many other people whose work contributes to the creation of a professional film.
Post-production and editing
The final stage of production, post-production, is crucial and decisive. Appropriate editing techniques allow the desired atmosphere to be set, control and build emotions, and are responsible for the dynamics, rhythm and overall narrative of the production. During editing, it is possible to correct any errors (colour correction) that may have arisen during the shooting process (change of image exposure, light saturation, colour). The post-production period is the moment when special effects and all 2D and 3D graphics (subtitles, labels, etc.) are added, the voiceover is recorded, and the soundtrack is added. The finished film meets all broadcast requirements of any television station.
